Selby Hwacha
Selby is a founding partner of Dube Manikai Hwacha having joined the firm in June 1998 when DMH was launched. Before DMH was formed Selby was a partner in an established Harare Law firm. Selby served on the 1999 Constitutional Commission of Zimbabwe and has been drafted into the current Constitutional making process. He is a former Secretary of the Harare legal Practitioners Association and a Council member of the National University of Science and Technology. He is a founder member of the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights [ZLHR] and The Zimbabwe National Students Union [ZINASU]. Presently Selby serves on the board of the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights and on several trusts and committees related to human rights generally, and specifically in the areas of Constitutional and Media rights. Having qualified in 1988, Selby has over twenty years experience in both general commercial civil and criminal litigation. He has a special interest in Labour Law covering employment contracts, codes of conduct, collective bargaining, dismissals, retrenchments and out sourcing. He has steered the Labour and Consultancy Group of DMH into arguably the most sought after team in its practice area.
